Local Hero Lance Stroll Faces Uphill Battle with Grid Penalty at Canadian Grand Prix

It’s another hit for Aston Martin in what has been a miserable weekend so far.

Lance Stroll will receive a grid penalty at the Canadian Grand Prix for exceeding the allowed power unit components for his Aston Martin.

The car now has new energy storage and control electronics units, which are the fourth this season, breaking the regulations that allow only three per campaign.

Stroll will now start from the pit lane instead of his original grid position of 21st, adding to Aston Martin’s difficult weekend in Montreal.

Teammate Fernando Alonso also faced challenges, crashing during sprint qualifying and retiring due to a technical issue, while Stroll had to deal with a suspension problem that forced him to start from the pit lane.

Both drivers had incidents involving unsafe releases in the pit lane, resulting in fines for the team and further setbacks for Aston Martin.
